Join a Racial Healing Circle to Dismantle White Supremacy

White supremacy goes against the very ideas of racial justice and good health, in all its forms. So, what’s the best way to confront and dismantle this false hierarchy in the U.S.? Talking about it – honestly with people of the same or different race in a Racial Healing Circle – is a solid start. Join Jose Rico, Chief Partnerships and Initiatives Officer from the United Way of Metro Chicago, and other participants in groups of about 10 people to share stories of pain and resilience, listen and learn in a safe space, and commit to addressing white supremacy and healing from it. Our future depends on an intentional commitment to heal from racial trauma and promote a deeper connection among people of all races. This session is inspired by the work of the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission during the end of apartheid and Dr. Gail C. Christopher, who created the Truth, Racial Healing, and Reconciliation group with the support of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Speakers: Jose Rico, Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation Chicago Tamiya Aurel, United Way of Metro Chicago
